Torres Sangre de Toro Garnacha 2013 (Spain) - Wine Review

Opened this easy-drinking, red wine . The name for this wine is inspired by Baccus, the Roman god of wine, who was known in ancient times as the "Son of the Bull". This red wine is a General List product and readily available at the LCBO.

TORRES SANGRE DE TORO GARNACHA 2013 - DO Catalunya, Spain (#006585) (D) - $12.95

Wine Review of 2013 Torres Sangre de Toro Garnacha from DO Catalunya, Spain
Tasting Note:
Screw cap. Even though it says Garnacha on the label, it is an unspecified blend of Garnacha (Grenache) and Cariñena (Carignan). Medium+ intensity aromas showing barnyard, black cherry, plum, and subtle oak. Medium-bodied with soft, rounded tannins and slightly sweet flavours of black cherry, blackberry, red berry, and balanced vanillan oak. Fresh acids will allow for pairing with meals. Medium length finish shows some bitter chocolate, cocoa and resinous flavours. Made in an easy-drinking, crowd-pleasing style. Score: 87 pts

  1. We tried the "Sangre de Toro - 2013" (not Garnacha) and, in my opinion, it's a delicious wine; as you said, it's easy-drinking and the acidity kind of sparkles subtly on the tongue which I think is very nice.

I wish I could describe the flavours and nuances as well as you did, but I will stick to plainly agreeing with you!

    Thanks for the review,

    Caroline
